Experience

I graduated college from Shimer College. I want to tutor students in order to help increase their studying abilities and love for learning. I try to teach with the philosophy that teachers should first really feel the beauty of the subjects they teach. Then they can passionately present any subject in class with greater chance that their students will be more receptive. I learned this from one of my high school teachers who went beyond the average classroom lecturing. He showed his students the value of real knowledge. I primarily like to tutor the subjects of literature and philosophy. My teaching experience was expanded by going abroad. I taught history of European politics and philosophy in Oxford, England to high school students. I then went to Spain and taught secondary English at les Biel Marti in the Balearic Islands. I can also tutor in a number of other subjects including algebra, geometry, calculus, biology, physics, geography, social studies, religious studies, and public speaking. My hobbies and interests are geared towards learning as well. I love to read and write. I greatly enjoy poetry as well as fiction. I try to inspire the students I tutor to always have the same desire of never giving up on learning.
